They try to pay you with food, i.e. bagels on Mondays, lunch on Fridays, and ice cream every other Wednesday. But I'd rather they keep that and pay more. I was hired as an Account Executive at $27,000 base salary plus uncapped commission. Well I just read on another job site that account executives at Nextiva make $60,000-$120,000 salary, Account Managers make $35,000-$50,000 salary, and the ones making $27,000 salary are called "Inside Sales Reps."
I never got caught up on the base; being a salesperson, it's all about the commission and I was told this was a great company to sell for, that its mostly inbound, barely hitting quota meant $3k in commissions, so I thought I could deal with that.
Wrong! 2 or 3 salespeople regularly hit that quota and you gotta make hundreds of OUTbound calls to some beat-to-death leads that have just been killed to death. The iciest cold of cold leads.
