Pros

So far, I've worked at Noble Desktop for 18 great years. I'm proud of the work I've done and I'm happy with how I've been treated. The founder, Scott Carson, did an amazing job creating and growing this business from scratch. How many people can create a business that continues for 28 years in NYC? Scott truly cares about the students and employees and wants the best for everyone. While Scott did not come from a business background, he is smart and often made very keen decisions that many people would not have had the insight for. Noble teaches many students each year, with a relatively small staff (an office staff of about 4-6 people, plus teachers). That means everyone is important to the operation. It's been nice to be able to see the impact I (and others) have had, and to be able to take concerns directly to the person in charge.

Cons

Noble has a small staff, so you must get along well with others. You won't get your own office so you can work in isolation. That's not a con for me, but maybe it is for some.

Pros

Noble Desktop provided a positive experience overall. The hiring process was smooth, and they required a writing sample before hiring. Writing for them was enjoyable, and they were a great client with consistent pay. The compensation was based on your experience, quality of work, and speed of writing. However, towards the end of my contract, I had a mixed experience. My contract was abruptly ended due to budget reasons, which seemed odd because they still had other writers on board. It was especially unexpected right before the holiday season. Although I wouldn't mind working for them again, it might not be the most reliable source of income.

Cons

Again, I think most of the cons revolve around budgeting issues in the company and cutting writing hours without warning. I wouldn't mind working with them again. Senior management is great, but I'm not sure about upper leadership.
