Promotions and hiring decisions are made based on politics and things not relevant to the candidate's strength or contributions to the org i.e. a manager will push the team hard to hire someone based on their race or sex instead of how they performed in interviews
Extreme favoritism throughout the org (e.g. to such an extent where favored people can publicly threaten/berate the non-favored)
Politics to the extreme. Technical decisions are not made based on the strength of the argument but who makes it and their political connections.
Nordstrom values the leadership tries to push are just a pipe dream. "Nordstrom nice" used to mean something, now it just means smile at the person while you backstab them.
