Pros
I'm not sure where to start! The benefits are incredible. The work atmosphere is enjoyable while maintaining its professionalism. Management actually appreciates your work and makes a practice of showing it. Career advancement is encouraged and you're provided the time and fees necessary to attend classes, seminars and workshops to improve your skills. There is a tremendous variety in employee personalities, backgrounds, politics, religions, personal preferences, etc., but each member of the team is equally respected and valued for the unique perspective they bring to the office. The company hosts multiple events throughout the year, but they're also not pushy or require participation if you prefer not to attend. And to top it all off, this pleasant work environment is set in a beautiful modern office on the 17th floor with the most amazing view of Mt. Hood! On a personal level, I've been through a lot in the last few years. The Executive Board and management staff have been so incredibly supportive and helpful! They've quickly granted time off when necessary and sent flowers to my home on multiple occasions. These are not just coworkers - they really care about your happiness, both at work and at home.
Cons
New employees that don't have the skills and work ethic they presented in their interview. This is a great company and I think we have an excellent team now, but we’ve had recent challenges investing time and energy into training someone who ultimately leaves because they don’t have the high level of skill and work ethic required. The company trains you and provides you with the tools to succeed, but they will not micromanage you or hold your hand every day. Personally, I appreciate not being micromanaged.
