Supportive community but low pay and high fees - Graduate Research Assistant North Carolina State University Employee Review

Pros

Great community of graduate students. I personally work in a state-of-the-art lab (Environmental Engineering Laboratory) which is nice.

Cons

The pay is very low for the cost of living in Raleigh. There are additional student fees (~$2000/semester) that eat away at the salary. You also still have to purchase a parking permit if you commute (~$2-300/semester).
