Pros

Ability to get overtime when you want. Good place to gain experience

Cons

They do a lot of unethical things at this hospital. They never follow staffing ratios, putting staff and patients in harms way. Many times I felt unsafe in my work. Managers were barely around to help, especially during escalations. Pay isn’t great but the overtime is nice. They don’t really have incentives to stay and they’re very comfortable with being a temporary job for multiple employees. The turnover rate here is astonishing.

Pros

I wasn’t sure what to expect when I joined North Star but I have to say I am so pleased with my decision to join this organization. The staff are some of the most collaborative and team centered individuals I have ever worked with. I leave feeling like I made a difference every day.

Cons

I would recommend talking to staff that work there now - it’s an amazing environment and everyone seems genuinely happy.

The pros are the patients, met great mentors

Cons

Poor management and leadership. This is the environment where if you get hurt they blame the staff. They don’t provide support at all.
