Pros
Allows for good work life balance and not micromanaged by supervisors- you're allowed to actually provide patient care and make decisions yourself without having to get orders for every little thing. Housed in fire station, so you don't spend your whole day sitting in a truck + have access to kitchen, day room, bathrooms, and bay space. Good working relationship with fire crews. Management is pretty family oriented and understanding with family needs. Lots of overtime opportunity.
Cons
Pay is not very high. Health insurance specifically is kind of expensive. Bi weekly pay checks amount, family benefits (self, spouse, child): Health insurance: $307 (Cigna: Ded $1200/2400.
