Pros
I guess decent benefits? Good amount of holidays, people are generally pretty friendly.
Cons
- Toxic work environment. - Extremely high staff turnover. - No centralized administration. - Culture of non-responsiveness. - No possibility of promotion in most administrative roles. Expect minimal annual salary increases (1-2.5%) that barely keep up with rising costs/inflation. I can't speak to the whole university, but there's a really significant resistance to diversity, total lack of transparency, no training whatsoever... Senior leadership is often openly hostile to employees asking difficult questions, and staff are largely seen as disposable bottom feeders.
