Pros

- Work life balance (for most) - Lots of opportunities. They have basically every career path imaginable there. And they are very open to you trying a new "path" and will pay for you to go to school for that "path" (if you can justify that it somehow relates to your current job). - I had 6 managers during my 8 year tenure, and all of them were incredible. Majority of people on your team are great to work with. Working with other teams is when the egos and competitiveness comes in.

Cons

- It can get VERY political. - Egos are high for many. - I was 1 year into grad school program, which they committed to pay for, and then decided nah not going to pay for this anymore and took away funding. - There were 5 restructures in my org in 1.5 years which is why I left - Impossible to get the equipment needed. I had to BEG them to give me a new PC after my 5 year old pc stopped working. Had to write a 3 page essay to get a second monitor when I transitioned to fully remote. - Insurance is mid. - They took away my $6,000 bonus, but gave me a $500 gift card which was supposed to replace it. Low pay. Overworked employees (most people are taking on multiple roles (usually would be the work/expectation of two, sometimes three or more employees/roles) with no increase in pay. Practically everyone eats lunch while they work. You are paid hourly and have to track your hours, ensuring every hour is given the appropriate charge code, even if you are a full-time "salaried employee". You are not allowed to work overtime without permission and working overtime is just more hours at your usual pay rate. Management is mostly incompetent. At my last one in one meeting with my manager, he said, "So, I gave essentially this same feedback in everyone's quarterly review. I expect you get more tasks done, to do them on time, and to start investing in AI." I actually called him out and said, "I need to push back on what you are asking of me because... I do an of that and more. Especially in regards to AI. You simply do not have enough time with the employees that you manage and...you don't know what we're doing." All he said was, "That's fair." and said things were changing with his latest project finishing up (it's been done for close to a month now. While there's more I could report on, those are probably the biggest concerns
