Pros
Some great people working in the union shops and cafeteria, but that's it. Nobody in management. Good health insurance if it's for yourself, not family. Free turkey for Thanksgiving. Nothing else good enough to separate this place if you have other offers. Even if you don't have others, still wouldn't recommend this place.
Cons
You will be stagnant in your skillset the longer you stay here. There is no advancement. You will be a well-paid, but glorified button pusher when you are not setting up. Most guys can't get work elsewhere so once they join union, they'll settle. No overtime. Benefits are surprisingly average compared to others. This is a military contractor. The stereotype of the kind of people that are way too into warfare and other unpleasant things in the world is accurate here. Plenty of bigoted comments and conspiracies overheard in cafeteria or common areas. The kind of people that vote to deport those who look like most of the shop employees. Not even trying to be politically correct or anything, but it's very ironic. Management is truly two-faced and cutthroat. They do not care about safety the way they claim, multiple accidents occurred in 6 months span. Extremely insensitive to family tragedy and personal issues, despite what they tell you. About 75% of what Management says to you is meaningless, you are at the mercy of incompetent and overpaid people that have no experience in the departments they are running. There is no exaggeration, it is absolutely absurd. Constant politics between managers while the working people get screwed. Any freebies or gifts they give you are unbelievably cheap. All the "free lunches" were better off in the trash, somehow even worse quality than the regular cafeteria food. The company truly does not care about you. Once again, do not work here.
