Pros

Teaching hospital, everyone is nice and if you’re truly passionate about this specialty then you should like it.

Cons

You will get burnt out quick. Its fast pace! You will more than likely have 5 couplets. CNAs dont help you. Northside over does everything from charting to assessments, v/s things that are all unnecessary that will put you behind and running the full 12.5hr. You dont get paid enough for all that overworking. & lastly the scheduling is a sh*t show! They have had 3 diff schedulers come and go. You are NOT guaranteed the schedule you put in 8 weeks in advance the scheduler will change your schedule and lock it and will not accommodate you for whatever you may have planned in your outside life. You feel like your in a prison in this place 4 call outs a yr. Barely gets PTO. For Holidays, you must work that holiday and the day after .& the hire ups dont want to increase nurses pay or decrease the workload apparently.

Pros

I have been privileged to work for Northside Hospital for the past five years, and my experience has been overwhelmingly positive. During my tenure, I have benefited from the organization's commitment to employee growth through its annual internal promotion policy, which has allowed me to advance within my current department. One of the aspects I value most is Northside's support for work-life balance and professional development. While working here, I was able to begin my Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program from the ground up and am on track to graduate in December 2026. The flexibility and encouragement provided by the organization have played a significant role in helping me pursue my educational goals while continuing to contribute as an employee. I was a full-time employee for most of my career with the organization and recently transitioned to part-time status to accommodate the increased demands of my nursing program. The support and understanding shown by management throughout this process have reinforced my appreciation for the company's employee-centered culture. I am grateful for the opportunities, professional growth, and support I have received over the past five years.

Cons

None that I can think of right now
