Pros

Good pto. I was offered better compensation here than at their nearest competitor however I regret not taking the job offer with the competitor instead.

Cons

Management is obviously kept in their positions based on tenure, not performance. I've met way too many complacent people in the past few months. It is not uncommon to meet many people who have been here for most of their entire lives. Low turnover can be great, but I think that's part of the reason why I feel like I've stepped back in time here. They do not seem to be up to date with current technology and seem very resistant to any change. Change is something that happens daily in healthcare. Nepotism is very common. They take "who you know" to a whole other level.

Pros

Of all the companies I have worked for Novant has been the best experience. I moved back into leadership after years of having stepped back from leadership due to burnout and frustration. Novant invests more than any company I have seen in both frontline and leader development, with cohesive messaging about priorities. I truly enjoy the teams I work with.

Cons

IT was moved to overseas a few years back. They back-pedaled on this and moved some aspects back to domestic coverage, but overall, I can't see where this improves operational efficiency despite surface level savings.

Pros

I had a great experience as a Research Assistant at Novant Health. The team was welcoming, collaborative, and supportive of learning. I gained valuable experience in clinical research, data collection, patient interactions, and working alongside healthcare professionals. The environment encouraged professional growth, and I appreciated the opportunity to contribute to meaningful research while developing skills that will benefit my future career in healthcare.

Cons

Depending on the project, the workload could fluctuate, and some tasks were repetitive, such as data entry and documentation. However, these responsibilities are a normal part of research and helped reinforce attention to detail.
