Pros

There was a time when I loved it here. The benefits were fabulous, the team I worked with was wonderful and I easily saw myself finishing my career here in North Carolina.

Cons

But then things changed. My particular department underwent some management changes, and they were NOT for the better. The whole dynamic of the department changed and instead of co-workers being supportive and helpful towards one another, they became two-faced, competitive and unkind. Favoritism ensued, staffing suffered, and if you opened your mouth to express distaste or concern, you immediately became labeled as a problem. (When you're sitting in orientation and they tell you they want to hear of your experiences/ideas from other hospitals, don't believe them...) Grateful that I made my escape away from the bedside...

Pros

Of all the companies I have worked for Novant has been the best experience. I moved back into leadership after years of having stepped back from leadership due to burnout and frustration. Novant invests more than any company I have seen in both frontline and leader development, with cohesive messaging about priorities. I truly enjoy the teams I work with.

Cons

IT was moved to overseas a few years back. They back-pedaled on this and moved some aspects back to domestic coverage, but overall, I can't see where this improves operational efficiency despite surface level savings.

Pros

I had a great experience as a Research Assistant at Novant Health. The team was welcoming, collaborative, and supportive of learning. I gained valuable experience in clinical research, data collection, patient interactions, and working alongside healthcare professionals. The environment encouraged professional growth, and I appreciated the opportunity to contribute to meaningful research while developing skills that will benefit my future career in healthcare.

Cons

Depending on the project, the workload could fluctuate, and some tasks were repetitive, such as data entry and documentation. However, these responsibilities are a normal part of research and helped reinforce attention to detail.
