Pros

Working 3 out of 7 days

Cons

Forget getting a promotion there unless you're willing to brown nose. The old adage it's who you know and who you blow that counts there. Upper management is inconsistent at best. Some follow policy and others bend the rules for who they choose to. Also, since taking away the charge nurse from the floor, it leaves inexperienced nurses with no one to go to for that second set of eyes. I was also recently a patient there and only saw my nurses when I called and asked for something. I definitely won't go back there, either as an employee or a patient.

Pros

Of all the companies I have worked for Novant has been the best experience. I moved back into leadership after years of having stepped back from leadership due to burnout and frustration. Novant invests more than any company I have seen in both frontline and leader development, with cohesive messaging about priorities. I truly enjoy the teams I work with.

Cons

IT was moved to overseas a few years back. They back-pedaled on this and moved some aspects back to domestic coverage, but overall, I can't see where this improves operational efficiency despite surface level savings.

Pros

I had a great experience as a Research Assistant at Novant Health. The team was welcoming, collaborative, and supportive of learning. I gained valuable experience in clinical research, data collection, patient interactions, and working alongside healthcare professionals. The environment encouraged professional growth, and I appreciated the opportunity to contribute to meaningful research while developing skills that will benefit my future career in healthcare.

Cons

Depending on the project, the workload could fluctuate, and some tasks were repetitive, such as data entry and documentation. However, these responsibilities are a normal part of research and helped reinforce attention to detail.
