Pros

Worked with some good co workers.

Cons

Novant told the media that only 157 secretary/CNA'S got their salaries cut. That is not true. Most CNA's were hired with the title sec/tech added to them even if they never did secretarial work. They are still having to do all kinds of secretarial work and take care of a full patient load. The only difference is that they don't put in doctors orders any more. When they cut the CNA's salary the ones that took the biggest hit was the most dedicated that had been with them for years and the only raises they ever got was a market increase every few years of about 15 cents an hour. The ones that had been with Novant for 8,10 and 12 years were making around $14.00 per hour. They got cut about $2.00 per hour putting their salaries back to the year 2009. They started hiring new CNA's for around $8.00 to $9.50 an hour. The few dedicated that they have left are all but being forced out. They are hiring many people with no experience or very little and they know that their pay is too low so most of them won't work very hard or consistantly.

Pros

I had a great experience as a Research Assistant at Novant Health. The team was welcoming, collaborative, and supportive of learning. I gained valuable experience in clinical research, data collection, patient interactions, and working alongside healthcare professionals. The environment encouraged professional growth, and I appreciated the opportunity to contribute to meaningful research while developing skills that will benefit my future career in healthcare.

Cons

Depending on the project, the workload could fluctuate, and some tasks were repetitive, such as data entry and documentation. However, these responsibilities are a normal part of research and helped reinforce attention to detail.
