Pros

Other than the people I worked with, there aren't any pros that i can think of

Cons

Experience doesn't mean anything to Novant, the more degrees and the better that you know how to suck up to upper management I'd the name of the game. People who spread rumors and lies are the people who get listened to, and their "truth" get honest, decent, hardworking people called on the carpet at least weekly until the innocent person is written up, gets fed up, and leaves. These same "truthbringers" are also the ones who get promoted over the ones with actual experience. Units are understaffed, staff is overworked, and the supposed not for profit organization only concerns itself with their bottom line. Administration makes the decisions without knowing or caring how it will truly affect patient safety. Finally, their shared governance is a joke, it's there so they can apply for and get Magnet status.

Pros

Of all the companies I have worked for Novant has been the best experience. I moved back into leadership after years of having stepped back from leadership due to burnout and frustration. Novant invests more than any company I have seen in both frontline and leader development, with cohesive messaging about priorities. I truly enjoy the teams I work with.

Cons

IT was moved to overseas a few years back. They back-pedaled on this and moved some aspects back to domestic coverage, but overall, I can't see where this improves operational efficiency despite surface level savings.

Pros

I had a great experience as a Research Assistant at Novant Health. The team was welcoming, collaborative, and supportive of learning. I gained valuable experience in clinical research, data collection, patient interactions, and working alongside healthcare professionals. The environment encouraged professional growth, and I appreciated the opportunity to contribute to meaningful research while developing skills that will benefit my future career in healthcare.

Cons

Depending on the project, the workload could fluctuate, and some tasks were repetitive, such as data entry and documentation. However, these responsibilities are a normal part of research and helped reinforce attention to detail.
