Pros
Clean place to work, safe place to work, long-lasting relationships with commercial and walk-in customers (they know you by name and will come right to you), commission, always something to do to make the time fly.
Cons
My co-workers tend to bring drama from home into the work place, co-workers tend to just take the 2-5 and out the door rule not very seriously, part-time employees get < 24 hours per week, was injured on the job and the store manager didn't want me to go for medical attention (however the district manager was on me about going to the doctor), too many slackers on the job, 1 person tends to carry all of the weight on each side (commercial/walk-in)... I'm also trying to get married and start a family, buy a new car, and buy a house... the former ISS (commercial supervisor) was leaving to go back to turning wrenches, I've worked my ass off to be their ISS and they give the job to someone that's never worked for O'Reilly before, has a nice 4 door truck and looks like he's well off while I'm struggling to pay bills, repair my own car and take care of my future wife and kids. I was even given the chance to be an RSS, I said "I don't really like working up front, but I'll do it" which turned into me losing the opportunity to be their RSS thanks to everyone playing telephone and twisting my words. I am pulling all the weight on the commercial side as far as playing the role of ISS and deliveries. There are several deliveries that are left on the counter, the other drivers will take 1 and leave 5 for me to do, or they'll take a bunch of deliveries that need to go South, and leave one that needs to go even farther South. I work delivery specialist, ISS, hub delivery specialist and parts specialist, not another person in the store I'm in does all of that.
