Pros

Sundays off (unless you don't have enough key carriers and then you get to work that day too). Uniform discount. Employee discount.

Cons

If you want to be told daily that you are garbage even when you are pulling double digit comp increases, then O'Reilly is the place for you! District and Regional management wants to constantly remind you that you need to think and act like a "business owner" except when thinking like a business owner interfers with their own way of thinking. Their idea of being a business owner is working 14 to 16 hour days 6 to 7 days a week to keep your payroll down so that their bonus or "Entitlement" isnt hampered in any way. But if you need to talk to a DM or RM after 5pm or on the weekends, call their cell's, im sure you will find them at home enjoying their family and their fat pay checks. This is not a nice place to work, do not be fooled with the "You can make as much money with us that you want" or the "We promote from within" bull lines. Your pay is determined on a tedious daily audit, 1% of GP and 1% of controlables. The problem is that O'Reilly has such a hard on to have more stores than Zone or Advance, that they open stores within miles of each other and this limits the amount of money each store can make, hence it limits the amount of money each store manager can make. They also will not promote an ASM to a GM spot since they only want to do "Strategic Hires" for GM's of new stores, in other words, they want to hire Zone or NAPA managers who can steal their exisiting customers away to the big O. The regional management staff likes to remind you how much smarter, better, and greater they are than you. The "Good Old Boy" policy is in effect in a big way at O'Reilly. The more back side you kiss, the better you chance of advancement. Be prepared to pick up your family and move to another state! Their "Culture" that they brag about daily is a huge lie. The only thing that matters to O'Reilly is the bottom line. They don't care how fast they burn you out. They want their money and you better not stand in the way of getting it.

Pros

Great company. Great management. Flexible schedule. Competitive pay. Great advancement opportunities as long as you work it. Friendly customers and great coworkers.

Cons

Interviews and getting hired on usually take a while because it goes through so many people up the line. Most companies the store manager can hire and/or fire someone but this company it all goes through several people

Pros

The catalog system is easy to use and technology wise they are pretty up to date, very simple and convenient

Cons

The hours suck, the pay sucks. The company only cares about profit it’s no different from autozone, they are able to sell parts for less compared to Napa because they pay the employees barely above minimum, they don’t like giving raises no matter how hard your work you have to basically be a store manager or higher to get a good pay. They open more stores to make more profit and keep employees at the bare minimum. It sucks working there I think if your ISS, which is wholesale, you can make decent money with that because they give a bigger bonus from the amount of sales you make plus less responsibility and better hours but thats if a position opens up and you’ll probably be there 4 plus years until you can get that position unless you’re lucky and one opens up in the area.
