Pros

Good people, fully embrace remote work

Cons

Recent IT leadership changes have disrupted the previously welcoming culture. In my time there, the company experienced its first-ever mass layoffs, along with a rise in red tape and decline in transparency. Despite strong stock performance, morale does not reflect that success.

O’Reilly Auto Parts is further modernizing its information technology (IT) solutions and structure, and needed to align the skills of our team members to the work ahead. To that end, we separated employment with less than 11% of our IT team. We recognize that the impact to the individuals affected and their families is significant, and we appreciate their past service to the company. They were given severance based on their position and years of service, as well as extended health care coverage. They can still be considered for other positions within the company if they’re interested, or we’re assisting them with outplacement services to help them find their next career path. This was not an effort to cut the size of our team or reduce expenses. O’Reilly is recruiting individuals who have specific IT skills and experience needed for the work ahead.

Pros

Great company. Great management. Flexible schedule. Competitive pay. Great advancement opportunities as long as you work it. Friendly customers and great coworkers.

Cons

Interviews and getting hired on usually take a while because it goes through so many people up the line. Most companies the store manager can hire and/or fire someone but this company it all goes through several people

Pros

-Always busy -Easy to make sales and extra money off commission and spiffs -Good starter job but need some automotive experience -up date and easy to understand operation system

Cons

-Store managers most of the time are really bad and not fit for their position. -Moving up is not that easy unless you’re liked by upper management -if you’re good at your job you get exploited since your the only dependable person -Overtime (could be good if you’re into grinding but not if you have a family)
