Pros
The department I work in is the absolute best...honestly. Psychiatry is the best department to be an employee. Management is personable but professional. People in the department are so friendly and honestly try to create a friendly environment. Its a small crew but very very sweet people. I am a very reserved person, but this department has kind of renewed my confidence in people. Thumbs up to Ochsner Psychiatry Department!!!
Cons
The pay sucks! I honestly don't earn a livable wage. I would not be able to keep this job if my husband was not the primary wage earner in my family. Also, one person does the job of 2 or 3 because the department runs on a budget that does not allow for incentives nor raises over 25cents a year. That is an insult. I resolve this in my mind because I am in school working towards a degree but most people here are not. They still deserve better pay as do I.
