The job is entry level which is nice, they have hours most times, the tasks themselves are pretty easy.

However, when it comes to being an employee at the location at 2470 Brice rd the energy in this location may feel disingenuous and that’s mostly because it is. While I did have the pleasure of working with some genuinely hardworking and honest employees and supervisors across all positions, most of my gripes have come with having to work with the majority of management seems to be a roster composed almost entirely of personality hires and ingenuine ones at that. For a job that stresses communication from the get-go, management and payroll has all the communication skills of a teenager scorned in the sense that they will seldom ever effectively communicate anything of value to you unless you reach out every time even when they say they will, but they will find the time to gossip and speak badly on their own employees… Even to other employees who are not management; especially (but not exclusively) after that employee has departed from the center. While they have the skills to be passable at the very least in their performance of their jobs, they lack all the professionalism and leadership skills for people who are supposed to be running a center. Octapharma Plasma has a 6-point system for attendance that some of this center administrative staff just can’t seem to remember clearly as assistant managers have had a history of “misremembering” the number of points that lead to termination with one assistant manager in particular even going out of her way to tell select employees termination would be at 10 points “temporarily” (which I would later find out was not the case) potentially sabotaging employees. I am unsurprised by this behavior, however, considering management in general seems to have a bad habit of disregarding blatant slander, exhibiting favoritism, and perpetuating mean-spirited gossip on top of miscommunicating and pretending as if they did not until it is brought up and they are confronted; although, unfortunately, this doesn’t always yield accountability on their part. I also hope that if you decide to pursue a career here you will never require a paper check from this place as they have regularly lost paper checks for me and refused to communicate on the subject, giving the impression that paying me as their employee was an afterthought. The general lack of communication and refusal to take accountability for their mistakes blur the lines between gross incompetence and malicious negligence and I am inclined to believe it’s the latter as they are more well-versed in gaslighting than they are communicating anything with anyone, including management, as payroll has had a history of fighting with management themselves in regard to losing employee money. I would even go further to say that this is the only job I’ve had where the company has lost my money multiple times. In conclusion, this Octapharma Plasma location has a lot of work to improve but I don’t see any real efforts to improve externally, nor did I see any real improvements in my time of employment here which is ultimately the reason I chose to quit and the reason I don’t see myself working for this company or selling my plasma to this location again. I will not say every single moment at this location has been completely and utterly miserable because that simply wouldn’t be true, but my favorite part of every single shift and donation consistently has been leaving and no longer being there. And once I finally receive my final check that I have been trying to receive for 4 weeks from here, I’ll be happy to cut any further ties with this location.
