Pros

Disruptive, sticky, foundational technology. Co-founders are passionate about making an impact in this space. Sales Leadership is top-notch from CRO down to 1st line management. The product works - customers seem very happy with high retention rates.

Cons

Newer upper management overpaid and use too many buzzwords - no real execution. Product development has screeched to a grinding halt. Customer success organization ill-equipped to handle technical use cases. Sales comp continues to decline. Inbound leads continue to decline.

Cons

Like many publicly traded SaaS companies, Okta has aggressive revenue targets. Employees in sales, account management, and customer success frequently note that quotas are demanding, territories can change unexpectedly during annual restructuring, and pressure to expand accounts can lead to burnout.

Pros

Great Benefits. Fantastic product. Company is scaling (or at least trying to).

Cons

Management and company culture has grown toxic. Extremely political and dramatic. Specifically in sales, marketing, and the C-Suite. I wouldn’t recommend joining okta unless you are some type of director or above and also remote. SF just RTO’d and it’s been miserable.
