Pay is based on a scale not the number of years been on the job and or experience. Most shifts are 21 turn which means that if your shift falls on a holiday you will be working it. When trying to bid out of one department to another if your supervisor doesn't want to loose you he will not turn in the bid form to personal and or he will not sign off on it.
