Pros

WFH once a week (but only Tues-Thurs), free health insurance (though not likely to last much longer), stake in the company (though likely to be extremely diluted), great co-workers, high-growth potential, generous holiday party and company picnic, location is great.

Cons

I loved working at OnShift and I loved the product I was working on, but then the rug was swept out from under my feet. After the CEO promised that he would take care of us, he went back on his word in the worst way and shockingly fired his best people. They framed the meeting as a strategy meeting and even told us to bring a pen and paper because it'd be "interactive." Why the bait and switch? At least let us retain some of our dignity. It was extremely disrespectful of all that we'd done for the company to lay us off the way that they did. Don't be fooled by the most recent positive reviews. This is management asking people to leave them, or management leaving the reviews themselves. I have many friends in various departments at the company and every time I talk to them they tell me what a disaster it is there. Since the layoff, 11 more engineers have quit. ELEVEN, of the ~25 that were left. The Chief "Architect" and other dev managers are burning the place to the ground. What used to be a colorful, fun environment is now a sterile, cookie-cutter office space.

Pros

Salaries are higher than elsewhere in the city.

Cons

There are reasons the salaries are higher than elsewhere in the city -- this business has many detriments.
