Pros

I would recommend this job to anyone who needs to get their foot into the medical field and gain experience so you can work for a better company where you can actually make a career.

Cons

The hours are long and you have no set time to clock out everyday even though they give you an end time for each drive. You hardly get breaks or lunch breaks because of the lack of proper staffing. Any time that you request off is usually denied or they'll approve all days except for one or two in the middle. If you call out, you get written up even if you requested your time 12 months in advance. Management threatens to write you up for everything (and they do!) which hinders your chances to transfer to another department. Other departments won't hire mobile staff because management makes it impossible for you to leave (instead of a two week period, they make you wait up to six months before you can transfer and the other departments usually need the position filled asap). They make you work extremely late shifts and then make you come in extra early the next day. They want you to collect blood from ANY and EVERYONE even if it compromises the staff's safety. They put two people to work late drives in desolate areas and usually never put male staff to work late drives. Management and recruiters are only concerned with collecting units to make their commission look better. Mobile staff are over worked, under paid, and don't get any bonuses for collecting units. Many companies have banned the buses from collecting blood at their business because the recruiters harass people to donate.
