What really matters is adequate pay. You have to fight for a raise, even if you are already doing copious amounts of extra work. The yearly "merit raise" is just a 3% cost of living raise that doesn't keep up with inflation. Work-life balance is pushed, but so are overtime hours and deadlines. The company needs to actually practice what they preach. If you leave the company, they will not pay out your earned PTO. (again, they are greedy and refuse to pay employees).
