      Pros

      After 2 years at the manager level, vacation policy is 20 days. Volunteer hours -3 days. 12 weeks of maternity leave. ESPP - 10% discount. Able to change positions within the accounting department at your same level. Teamwork is prevalent, people are not slackers. One month of work from anywhere in the USA. Community give back initiatives are pretty neat.

      Cons

      It is very hierarchical. I feel decisions are taken only by the head of the department. Bonus seems to be decreasing instead of increasing. Annual salary increases are only 2%. After manager, there is no clear path forward or timeline. People stay for long years, so you need to wait for someone to die or retire in order to advance. Work-life balance depends on the group - if you are tie to the month end process, your first week of every month is pretty long (but that may be true in every company). Other groups WLB is pretty good. Changing positions outside accounting is not common or supported.

      Pros

      Your peers. I have a great group of co-workers though multiple have left because of HORRIBLE direct management in the AM department.

      Cons

      Low hourly pay. Tricky incentives. Shark like environment. Terrible and I mean TERRIBLE managers. Favoritism runs rampant at this place and goes unchecked. Lazy, incompetent department manager makes up his own rules (you MUST use your break time to go the bathroom) which goes endorsed by his superiors and HR. Reward people who live at that place and work insane OT hours because of the low pay, but crap on people working the normal amount of hours because you’re based on the “average”. Truly one of the worst management staffs I have ever seen coupled with lackadaisical training and one of the dumbest rules I’ve ever heard of…you must be at One Main for ONE ENTIRE YEAR before you can transfer out of the department or move up. Trust me when I say run as far away as you can from this place.
