Pros

Some people say work life balance? Well, in some teams you can work from home. Then you have lots of travelling as a payback, so not really... Benefits are quite good, you can get educational assistance, access to very good learning portal, but that is all.

Cons

- no pay rises - career progression is a joke, there are hardly any people who actually got promoted - lots of new acquisitions are botched from the beginning, key people leave and products die - OT buys companies for their financial results then puts products in maintenance mode and kills them slowly - some of middle managers are good, lots are just after good financial spreadsheets, nothing else - general feeling that management doesn't care about employees in the slightest - morale extremely low, lots of people leaving - hiring freeze - problematic as some teams lost key people they cannot replace - micromanagement right from the top - current top management initiative is a laughing stock of the whole company

Pros

You get a paycheck. Some of the people are nice but don’t trust anyone.

Cons

Exec leadership is awful. Always putting out the positive party line but it is all lies. Products are so far behind competitors. No investment in product or marketing. Senior executive leadership team shuffles around their “good old boy” comrades to new roles instead of retiring them or holding them accountable. The internal politics with everyone back stabbing each other to manage up and keep their jobs. Leadership is just doing what the board chair tells them to do. It is all about self promotion vs doing the job. They like to blame the previous CEO but he has been gone a year and it has only gotten worse. OpenText likes to brand itself as top company to work for , I say STAY AWAY!
