Pros
In IT, teams were very silo'd but for the most part, everyone was willing to work with you. even Service Desk/Help Desk had decent access to learn more. No on-call or OT for NA regions, was very rare. Management is helpful and has your back, until you get to the Executive/VP level. They start to get a bit more "micro-manag-y" and nit picky about small details. Education reimbursement was great and they encourage you to further your education by taking some time on your own during the work week to study. Got to travel to a couple conferences which was cool. Overall, I think it's a great place for a new IT person or someone with a few years to get an overall knowledge base.
Cons
Typical corporate company. In IT, you have decent access even at low levels, but it is still very silo'd in that you won't be able to do something even if you know how to. Very slow in processing projects, management will shoot down ideas if it doesn't make sense to them. Don't always keep the supervisors/team "in the know" but will let you know last second. Executives get what they want. CEO wants a new office? He got it. Wants expensive IT equipment and conference room? He got it. All while stating we need to make cuts on budgets, etc. Yet asks for the best technology even though current tech is <1 year old. The company seems to flip flop a lot for small things. A candy bowl at reception? Cut. Then brought back after "popular" demand.
