Pros

Work and life balance Employees care and want to do right for each other, the products and the customers. Nice offices. Largest Canadian software company Impressed with OpenText's Culture and values

Cons

At end of the day, the company and its decisions are driven by finance and spreadsheets. There is more financial wrangling than innovation. CEO is very hands on and can come across as micro managing and a bottleneck. A bit too low level involvement with , "I have an idea" versus defining the high level direction. Still a lot of fragmentation between products and product groups, although getting better.

Pros

While they claim to be "pro-employee" they are very much pro-Canadian employee. As long as you are a Canadian, your job should be safe. And US based role is in jeopardy.

Cons

Laying off all Americans. I do not see relevant data on location based statistics for the last 4 rounds of layoffs. The bulk of the "trimming" has been based in US. This is cost savings. Additionally, they post US based jobs for 24 hours then pull those and post H1B notifications that they could not find equivalent US resources and need to outsource for cheaper money.
