Pros
The company works extremely hard to continuously improve itself and it is not often that an employer cares so much about their employees. I have a friend who works in HR at another company and calls their Suggestion Box a "mini trash can." The great thing about Optima Tax is that upper management actually reads the reviews (good or bad) and takes it into careful consideration. Employee feedback is highly appreciated here and the work atmosphere is very positive. These are all important attributes a good company should exhibit. Optima Tax also offers a lot of incentives to reward employees that work hard work, exceed their goals, etc. This very "family-oriented" approach shows how much they truly care. To top it off, Optima Tax continues to create new positions/levels so their employees can grow, offer educational classes, give back generously to the community by participating in multiple charities, and much more. I have no doubt in my mind that everything this company does is with great intentions.
Cons
The training in the servicing department is lacking and I had to study and educate myself on tax law to have a better understanding of the process. I learned a lot from a few of my peers, but felt that I should have received adequate training from the company and immediate supervisors. Instead, I had to work very hard to teach myself and ensure my clients receive the quality service they deserve and hope management can pay more attention to this, rather than our numbers. Although the company often (and I mean very often) tells us how much they appreciate our work... the goals, large pipelines, and expectations don't always seem to correlate. With all of this success, it is expected that the company will experience "growing pains" and I can understand why the process has not been perfected yet. I do believe we are heading in the right direction and can appreciate the tremendous efforts.
