Mental health to them is a joke. They do not provide adequate resources and/or support for employees who are truly in need. Instead, they have a quota to meet and would rather burn out the employees versus stepping in as LEADERS to step in, take some of the load, and actually engage with their staff. This is not just coming from me; this is a ton of feedback that has been sent to all managers, CEO included, and yet, they still turn a blind eye and protect themselves. Who’s really gaining by working here? Because the employees are more of their stepping ground versus partnership. I looked forward more to being unemployed because that’s when I realized my mental health was finally at ease. They ridicule mental health as though we’re just “babies” about it.
Managers are also in their position either because they’re popular and liked by the senior managers or because there’s a desperate need because other managers see the environment in which they’re in so they leave abruptly.
Their career path is a joke. After many, many attempts at utilizing their career development program (and trusting the managers with the chances they were providing), I was finally offered a position that I was excited about. But because the department was short staffed, COVID hit, and layoffs were happening, I was part of the unlucky ones to get laid off because of my disability. Is this really a company you want to support your mental health? That was a blessing in disguise to leave this horrible environment. They will not support you in your development, your sanity, or your overall well-being. They continued to make false promises for their benefit; even if it meant killing you.
