Pros

Metro is really a great place to work in many aspects, but not in terms of pay or diversity. They encourage trainings and often promote from within. The agency cares about community, and runs some amazing places like the Zoo, Expo Center, P'5, many local parks and the Oregon Convention Center.

Cons

Lack of racial diversity, government level salaries, and human resources is lackluster at best.

Metro is a strong regional government, smart people, processes, and focus. In my case I had a great team lead, tons of support, and very collaborative team members.

Cons

Government isn't fast, there can be too many meetings, and depending on the role you are sometimes dealing with crisis (especially in communications).
