      Flexible work schedule, generous leave and affordable health care

      Cons

      Lack of training for managerial positions. Managers are often unable to distinguish between personal and professional relationships and make decisions influenced by how friendly you are with them. Employees with differing opinions are treated poorly, damaging morale and making others afraid to speak up. There is also no opportunity to provide anonymous feedback for managers.

      Your patrol car is your mobile office, and every day is different. The pay and benefits are getting better every year. You earn tons of leave and can take so much time off.

      Cons

      The call-outs in the middle of the night are always tricky. The trama you see during your career can take its toll on you.

      Mission and peers. People believe in what they're doing and there are some really talented people. Some teams have great sub-culture bubbles within the agency.

      Toxic leadership culture where employees are topics of gossip. Friends and favorites are elevated and others are iced out.
