Pros
I was skeptical it could be as great as the press and internet says, but so far I have no complaints. Management listens and there is an extremely high degree of autonomy entrusted to the teams. Recruiting focuses on hiring talented problem-solvers with varied and strong technical skills at every level. Issues are acted on swiftly and transparently. The prevailing culture embraces iteration, meaning mistakes are expected but kept small as possible, and improved as we learn.
Cons
This company is growing at light speed and breaking into many markets at once. Ambiguity on best practices (especially since the software is intentionally so flexible) and a big distributed employee base can be hard for people who need more structure. There is a huge emphasis on client satisfaction which can lead to a do-anything, never say “no” attitude that might make sustaining the growth pace even harder.
