Pros

I feel incredibly lucky to have secured a job at Origami. Prior to joining, I read the Glassdoor reviews, listened to everyone I interviewed with rave about how amazing the company is (including both Origami veterans of 10+ yrs and those who have been here less than a year). And it has all rung true. The culture is so inclusive - everyone has a voice and you feel like you’re truly being taken care of. During this COVID-19 pandemic, we have had constant communication from management with updates on the company, care packages sent to every employee, home office equipment sent out immediately upon everyone working from home. Prior to this, we had our annual colleague conference for all employees, which was a great opportunity to meet and bond with teammates for the first time. It is so refreshing to work with such intelligent people, and a management team that is down to earth. Anyone at any level is totally approachable and willing to help. The culture is collaborative, hard working, appreciative, friendly, and everyone has a great sense of humor.

Cons

Nothing I can think of so far.

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback. You have nailed the pros and agree how it is so refreshing to work with bright colleagues and an approachable leadership team that genuinely cares. The current crisis has continued to teach us that Origamians are resilient and able to push through together to achieve great things. It certainly is an amazing company to work for with a strong culture to be proud of.

Pros

The only pro of this company is the fully remote work (which also comes with its cons).

Cons

It’s a long list: 1. Micromanagement 2. Politics 3. Promoting long time buddies (with no skills) over skilled young professionals. 4. Ignoring company values when it comes to internal mechanics. Suddenly things aren’t important enough if it doesn’t make you money. 5. Complete misalignment between sales, product and engineering. They sell everything that’s not even in the pipeline for product. 6. The CPO and VP of Product are circus heads, not real professionals. 7. People with different opinions aren’t appreciated. 8. Slack and Outlook tools are monitored for status and location just to come up with any reason for layoffs. 10. Base comp is okay at first but then capped strongly.
