Pros

There is money to be made, after the bureaucracy. The benefits are good.

Cons

Co-workers are awesome except that the company puts everyone in a very competitive position, and a lot of hard feelings are born. Also, there is a long chain or command - everyone has several different bosses to report to, which takes away actual production time. What it breaks down to is a few actual workers down at the lower level, and several chiefs somewhere else analyzing. Also, this area is flooded with competitors who offer cheaper services, and not so great service, but most people are only concerned with price. A little difficult to verify personal sales and commission.

Orkin Response

We are disappointed to hear that this was your experience working at this location. In fact, Orkin has assessed the leadership in this area and has made some management changes both locally and at the region level to ensure we are focused on our customers and our employees. The Orkin brand is a premium service and we go beyond the call of most local competitors. One employee benefit is a strong sales incentive program but it is not to drive ill will among co-workers. Thanks for bringing this to our attention!

Pros

Opportunity to work for a well-established and respected industry leader with a strong reputation. Competitive pay with performance-based incentives and opportunities to increase earnings. Comprehensive training and ongoing professional development to build valuable skills. Clear career advancement opportunities into leadership, management, or specialized roles. Excellent teamwork and support from experienced colleagues and managers.

Cons

Long hours and overtime may be required during peak pest control seasons. Daily exposure to pests, insects, rodents, and tight or uncomfortable spaces may not be suitable for everyone. Meeting sales or performance goals can be stressful, especially in customer-facing roles. Work schedules may include evenings or weekends to accommodate customer needs.
