Pros

Good pay. Great target bonus to off set that the company doesn't grant equity. Excellent retirement contributions. Flexible time off.

Cons

Dysfunctional organization. People have worked there for 15+ years and don't know the basics of drug development. It was astonishing. Basic GCP and or drug development terminology was foreign to people. You could work there for years and just coast under the radar not learning a thing. There's no growth mindset among employees. Feels more like govt than an industry. There are employees in the same exact role and level for 10+ years. So experience in the organization is lacking. They are stuck doing things that have been outdated in the industry. And no one takes ownership. It's disturbing to see just how little you need to know to get by and no one will question it. If something goes wrong just blame the cro and the chaos within the organization continues.

Pros

I've been a full-time employee for about three months after converting to an FTE role, and I don't regret the decision one bit. The company culture is outstanding, and it's clear that leadership genuinely cares about the success and development of its employees. There are plenty of opportunities for learning, growth, and career advancement. The people are supportive, collaborative, and invested in helping one another succeed. It's a place where you feel valued and encouraged to do your best work.

Cons

The company has been somewhat slower than some competitors in embracing AI and driving AI-related innovation, although meaningful progress is being made. Change can also take time, particularly among more tenured employees who are accustomed to established ways of working. That said, the growing mix of experienced employees and newer talent is helping accelerate positive change and bring fresh perspectives.
