Pros

Otsuka overall is a great company to work for as long as you are aware that many people aren't your friend. You will gain great experience and work with some amazing coworkers but it comes with a catch. The product pipeline is decent and has its space in the industry. Great opportunity if offered. Take advantages of the resources and opportunities available at your fingertips to move on to a better opportunity as you most likely will not be promoted without pulling teeth.

Cons

There are many toxic and insecure managers with a point to prove who will smile in your face but screw you over at the first chance they get. I guess that is not uncommon for big Pharma in general. Just watch your back. To some of them it is a game on getting others fired or blocking a promotion due to their own insecurities. I was not fired myself but I have seen firsthand some "leaders" intentionally mislead their subordinates to get them fired. Let's not get started on the antiquated managers who are stuck in 2002.

Pros

I've been a full-time employee for about three months after converting to an FTE role, and I don't regret the decision one bit. The company culture is outstanding, and it's clear that leadership genuinely cares about the success and development of its employees. There are plenty of opportunities for learning, growth, and career advancement. The people are supportive, collaborative, and invested in helping one another succeed. It's a place where you feel valued and encouraged to do your best work.

Cons

The company has been somewhat slower than some competitors in embracing AI and driving AI-related innovation, although meaningful progress is being made. Change can also take time, particularly among more tenured employees who are accustomed to established ways of working. That said, the growing mix of experienced employees and newer talent is helping accelerate positive change and bring fresh perspectives.
