Pros

Good company parties. Well stocked kitchen. Nice office space at CBOT. These are the only good things to speak of.

Cons

Company focus is on perception management. If they put half the effort they've put into up'ing their glassdoor ratings into fixing the actual problems (which have been thoroughly covered in other glass door reviews) they might make some progress. The truth is harsh though: Peak6 has one of the worst reputations in Chicago finance. Anyone with talent/options typically doesnt stay very long. Dealing with the management (IT in particular) is an onerous undertaking and the infrastructure is fragile to boot. They can only entice people who dont have the connections to initiate a conversation with current or ex employees (translation: clueless college kids). Pay attention to the consistent pattern here of three positive reviews that follow any one star review.

I’m sorry to hear that you’ve had such a negative experience while working at PEAK6. One of the reasons we’re asking our employees to share feedback on Glassdoor, as well as the myriad of other steps we’re taking to build a great culture, is to learn what’s working as well as where we can improve. If you have ideas and insights that can help improve things, I would encourage you to share those because getting engaged in the solution will help everyone. However, perhaps this isn’t the right culture for you. We hate to see talent leave but, we’d rather see you are in a role, and culture, that’s the right fit for you. I welcome any feedback or input, so please consider reaching out directly to me. Thanks, Brad

Pros

Very wfh friendly, not as intense for a buyside

Cons

Mixed identity between a very traditional discretionary prop shop and a fintech-esque platform
