Pros

I interviewed for the account executive trainee position with PLS Charlotte right out of college and knew I wanted the job right then, right there. The environment is fun, training is great and very thorough, and I look forward to coming into work every day. A 36K salary and great benefits isn't bad right out of college or for anyone trying to work their way up and PLS is a great avenue to quickly find yourself climbing a ladder. This company gives you the tools and training needed to make it in the logistics worlds and they leave it up to you to decide how far you want to go. Many sales positions are commission based right out of the gate but, the training program gives you time to get your feet wet, sustain yourself, and ease your way into selling-- especially for those of us new to sales. Each team member assists in and is happy for your success and if you try and want to succeed, then you will. Like I said: great place, great people, great career.

Cons

We need an upgrade on the office coffee.

Pros

The Colleagues and relationships you make with your co-workers. Building a book of business, and fast paced environment. Unlimited Growth Potential.

Cons

The direction the company is headed in and the toxicity of an everchanging management structure. As someone who spent almost a decade with PLS; I can say fully and honestly, they do not care about you. This is a company to build experience with and move on from. If you are a $20K rep for more than 6 months, after you roll out, they will move off of you. You will be terminated with no second thought--other reps will poach your clients and potentially ruin any relationships. Furthermore, management tends to play favorites--If you show growth potential, they will feed you, but the moment you fail on one opportunity--you will be turned over. This is not the job for anyone who questions their own ability and work ethic. PLS Hires in classes - they will hire 30-40 people at a time, and in 3 months, 4 to 5 people of that class will remain. The turn over is extremely high and there is no job security. Finally, even if you are a top performer, they will not hesitate to get rid of you.
