Micro Managing Horror - Logistics Coordinator PLS Logistics Services Employee Review

Pros

Not a single Pro, at least for the Dallas location.

Cons

You will be micromanaged to the core - even to the point of being allowed out to lunch (don’t even think about leaving 5 minutes earlier). Pay is pretty low, you don’t get a laptop and management is incompetent and untalented themselves. Find yourself better opportunities. Also, best for last, a corporate job where you are forced to come in and work one Saturday each month. Combine that with the low pay and you are really going to suffer a terrible work life balance, without the high pay and benefits most have to make that sacrifice.

Pros

The Colleagues and relationships you make with your co-workers. Building a book of business, and fast paced environment. Unlimited Growth Potential.

Cons

The direction the company is headed in and the toxicity of an everchanging management structure. As someone who spent almost a decade with PLS; I can say fully and honestly, they do not care about you. This is a company to build experience with and move on from. If you are a $20K rep for more than 6 months, after you roll out, they will move off of you. You will be terminated with no second thought--other reps will poach your clients and potentially ruin any relationships. Furthermore, management tends to play favorites--If you show growth potential, they will feed you, but the moment you fail on one opportunity--you will be turned over. This is not the job for anyone who questions their own ability and work ethic. PLS Hires in classes - they will hire 30-40 people at a time, and in 3 months, 4 to 5 people of that class will remain. The turn over is extremely high and there is no job security. Finally, even if you are a top performer, they will not hesitate to get rid of you.
