Pros

Great office location. Peers were helpful. Good experience. I love sales and continued doing sales after this. I am so appreciative for the opportunity to dip my foot into the world of sales.

Cons

1. No care for employees. Dennis Perri, the South Side Manager, berated me for not working when I took my wife to the hospital for a heart attack. 2. The product I sold was awful. I never beat a competitor in price, quality, or convenience. When I asked management for some success stories to help me understand our product's value, they said, "Your job is to make money for the company. Figure it out." Personally, I have to believe in the product I sell. All my sales came from phenomenal service (me.) 3.They have a model they want you to follow, however the model frequently breaks down. It takes hours out of your day to fix it, on top of everything else. Either provide quality IT or allow solutions that work. Greg Burns' model does not invest into human capital. When people decry "Uncaring Corporate America," PLS Logistics is the poster child. Other non-asset based 3PLs companies invest in their people at least a little bit. Not PLS. And this mentality is reflected in the management they hire.

Pros

The Colleagues and relationships you make with your co-workers. Building a book of business, and fast paced environment. Unlimited Growth Potential.

Cons

The direction the company is headed in and the toxicity of an everchanging management structure. As someone who spent almost a decade with PLS; I can say fully and honestly, they do not care about you. This is a company to build experience with and move on from. If you are a $20K rep for more than 6 months, after you roll out, they will move off of you. You will be terminated with no second thought--other reps will poach your clients and potentially ruin any relationships. Furthermore, management tends to play favorites--If you show growth potential, they will feed you, but the moment you fail on one opportunity--you will be turned over. This is not the job for anyone who questions their own ability and work ethic. PLS Hires in classes - they will hire 30-40 people at a time, and in 3 months, 4 to 5 people of that class will remain. The turn over is extremely high and there is no job security. Finally, even if you are a top performer, they will not hesitate to get rid of you.
