Pros

PPD's greatest strength are the quality of its people. I have met and made many friends. If you don't get sick often, the PTO policy is pretty good. The benefits are definitely better than my last job.

Cons

The downside is that there are no real rewards to doing a GREAT job. Managers don't feel a need to compliment you on a job well done, though they are quick to find fault when something goes wrong. And god forbid your boss doesn't like you--it's an atmosphere of your word against your boss. Upper management will side with its own. It's too bad, PPD has a lot of potential, but there's no team feeling when things go wrong and no corresponding rewards when things go right.

Pros

Provided health insurance. Good coworkers Good exposure to team at client site If you have a good technical lead, the job can be great!

Cons

You have 2 bosses (Technical lead from Client Site) and your PPD boss. PPD Boss does not know what is going on If you have a bad technical lead, your life can be miserable. Pay is low No protection from abusive technical lead (coworkers on same team can have a drastically different experience)
