Pros

I had a great people to work with at the local level. Great management at the local level. Company has strong product portfolio. Company car, expense account. Decent health care - but it’s expensive. Plenty of autonomy to call on any customers you can sell to; not limited by geographical boundaries. Corporate culture is more laid back than the biggest competitor (but is trending in that direction). Can be a fun place to work!

Cons

PPG is a company with an identity crisis. Upper management, including the CEO, appear to be clueless about their customer base. It seems like the only experience anyone in upper management has had selling anything to anyone was in a marketing class they had to take during their MBA, roll playing in a classroom setting to their classmates. None of them appear to have any real world experience or hands on knowledge. Constant change in senior management so the goals and direction are always changing. Compensation plan is, by far, the worst in the industry. Health care plans are overpriced.

Pros

Not much to says that is good.

Cons

The company is not committed to making sure their employees are treated fairly. They have a globe code of ethics but if you make a report the team handling the ethics will notify management and they'll reliate and start writing you up for anything just to get rid of you. They tell you that they're surveys are anonymous but they aren't anonymous. The EEOC needs to investigate the company it's terrible.
