Pros
This company focuses on people. Being large, you will always find someone that isn't great but most people really treat people well. There is a quarter century club that has many people in it. Very stable and did good job keeping people on board through the last couple major downturns when times got tough. Really it is a great company to work for.
Cons
One pro, its stability and longevity of employees, is also its con. Because people have done the same task (never mind the same job) for 30 years, they are often resistant to change. The company is very conservative and slow moving on anything. The IT department needs some work too. There doesn't seem to be a coherent strategy on software. There are dozens and dozens of software that all seem to be a mess. All the purchased or built software creates a huge burden on the IT department. They also like to do massive upgrades that don't keep anywhere near the deadline. IT is well known for over-promising time frames to the point that people roll their eyes when you say when IT will have it done.
