Pros
PL has great benefits (including PTO, sick day-required by CA, medical benefit, 401k matching, HSA, etc.); great HR team members/workers; almost zero lay-off (only 1 or 2 were let go when I was employed at PL).
Cons
1. Middle level management lack of good and qualified successors; 2. New managers make management mistakes; 3. Some teams do not develop old (employed longer than 1 year) employees and burden skilled employees with more work (tedious);and take high performance/high quality work for granted; and give good work to new employees to keep new employees happy/fulfilled; 4. because the company does not lay off employees (most of the time), so low quality workers get to stay; and good workers usually get valued by other companies; (generally taken as bad drives out good); 5. Depends on the team, but most of the time, you will get an average/expected bonus; 6. The reality of the team that I was employed at is: the team leaders are not hiring/retaining top talents, but getting the ones that are economy and stay.
