Pros

Competitive Pay, Nice Benefits, Nice People, Good Culture Overall The company offers self-directed training through LinkedIn Learning

Cons

Work/Life Balance, Unrealistic Expectations, Politics, Perfectionism, Lack of Clear Planning at Times This seems like a great company, and when I started I was challenged with some of the work but overall I felt encouraged and hopeful. Lately, however, the environment has become much more stressful. This could be isolated to my team, but there is a big push for deliverables within unrealistic timeframes. I find myself working late hours and weekends now and see my coworkers online as well. Some of the management expects results for complex work without training or taking into account the time needed to brainstorm, do research, consult with others, refactor, revise, etc. It seems like there is a disconnect between what the team is capable of doing and what the manager wants. Feedback can sometimes be harsh or make you feel stupid or inferior.

Pros

What I'm most grateful for is my team and the culture. Pacific Life is full of supportive, knowledgeable, encouraging, and just genuinely great people. I feel challenged, appreciated, and lucky to be a part of this culture.

Cons

In-person requirement of four days a week is not consistent. There is lots of flexibility with that, though.

Pros

Great benefits and great team members!

Cons

The Return to Office policy is driving away one of our talented team members. Blindsided by reorgs. No polls done to determine what is best for our team.

Thank you for sharing your perspective and for recognizing the strength of your team and our benefits. Our in-office approach is designed to support collaboration and connection across teams, while still offering flexibility through one remote workday per week, along with our flexible workdays benefit, which allows for additional remote days throughout the year. Feedback like yours helps us continue learning how this is experienced day-to-day across different roles and teams. We appreciate you taking the time to share.
