Pros

We'd get cool perks like free drinks or food or shirts, and we'd get to meet celebrities that some people cared about at events sometimes.

Cons

When we had worked over 40 hours in a week, we had to put the extra hours into another week's timesheet so they wouldn't have to pay us overtime. If we worked over 8 hours (and 14-15 hour shifts were far from uncommon) we had to split them up into different days. We didn't get breaks. The promotions team got 9 bucks an hour, and their even more overworked boss(es) (who rarely stayed very long) made maybe 15. A large percentage of workers had alcohol problems, exacerbated by free drinks at events. Company cars were often in disrepair because upkeep was never done in a timely manner (like going 20,000 miles past the oil change point).
