Pros

Good people. Most of the people you meet at Paradigm are friendly and always willing to help each other out. The company has cultivated a good culture. Interesting technical challenges to solve. Flexible schedules.

Cons

The experience working at Paradigm has really gone downhill since bringing on new leadership. There is constant change just for the sake of change. Technical decisions are made by executives that engineers know are the wrong choices, but our opinions aren't being listened to. AI hype that is far removed from reality. And recently, a change to the remote work policy that is extremely unpopular with employees. It feels like we've been headed in the wrong direction for almost a year now.

Pros

A Really great, relaxed culture. Understands value of remote work. Work life balance is a core value as far as I can tell. Paradigm has one thing that very few companies have which is they do genuinely reward and recognize people who put effort forward and care with further opportunities and compensation.

Cons

The pay is middling for this type of job but the low level of stress + culture of rewarding effort can mitigate that. Raises are not amazing but if you shine you can get promoted to a better role and pay bracket.

Pros

Work life balance is fantastic if you have a good manager. My team manages to meet our commitments every sprint, and I'm able to go to doctors appointments occasionally without needing to get approval or proof. I've made great friends working here.

Cons

The company is rotting from the top down. New CEO's making drastic decisions at the drop of a hat. Entirely new processes and services are being implemented and paid for, and the ultimately retracted because they are such colossal failures and grind team output to a crawl. A HEAVY desire to use AI in every possible workflow with a complete refusal to discuss job security or even the rising cost of its usage Just yesterday all remote workers were demoted in an email. An email stating that if you lived within 120 miles ("A reasonable commute") of a satellite base then you are now an in office worker. All other remote workers must never move outside their current state, or else they must relocate to within 120 miles of the 3 hubs we have. Its choking our talent pool, forcing people to quit who have no other options, forcing people to suck it up and deal with it because they have no other options, and its all in the name of controlling employees. A constant stream of "we work in tech, tech is fast, tech is the future, look towards the future" while now simultaneously asking us to revert to working conditions circa 2005. They asked employees to submit AMA questions for the CEO's and I am not exaggerating, they then held a 90 minute meeting where the first 25 minutes was an AMA for a AI CEO from DIFFERENT company, 60 minutes of generic company talk, and then the last 4 minutes were dedicated to the "Employee AMA" where they answered two fake questions and wrapped the meeting up a minute early when people started asking questions in the chat. Everyday it feels like the company is being sabotaged from the CSuit. The people that continue to work here do so in total desperation and fear that their work lives will either end abruptly, or the quality of life will drastically crater to the point where quitting is the only option. It's depressing and I would suggest only applying here if you are DESPERATE.
